    Hi,

We are facing the following typical issue:

When we are searching in Yahoo and AltaVista with the name of our company "BlueAlly", the search result is not only showing pages of our site and pages of other sites to which we are directly linked with, but also one site to which we are not directly linked.

    1) What can be the possible reasons of getting such kind of results?
    2) Can any one help us out in resolving this issue: not having that particular site when we search with our company name "BlueAlly"?

Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions.

    Best Regards,
    Samata
    BlueAlly

Search engines have no interest in who owns a company, simply in the use of the word.

You'll need to look at that page and see how there use of 'your' name has got them into the serps.

If they are misusing your company name or trade mark, you may be able to take action - provided the name is properly registered.

In the real world, it rarely matters; most people who already know your company name will recognise the correct site when they see it in their search results. It is searches on key words that are more likely to bring you new business.
