Does anyone know of a simple to use, yet really good webpage editor program? I'm in the process of moving my site from a free site designer service (loaded with errors) and need a fairly quick tool.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Dreamweaver is pretty much tops, but it's a bit more costly than some, but probably worth it if you intend to do lots of site design. It sells for $369 at Provantage. That's where I get much of my stuff--quick and reliable for the most part. And of course you could get Microsoft Frontpage. There are lots of other choices too--just google them.

MOZILLA, a browser/mail client/html editor has "composer" which works pretty well. It's free, open-source - www.mozilla.org

If you want a wysiwymwg [what you see is maybe what you will get] editor, dreamweaver is your best choice, you can find copies of 4 or mx if you look around for not much money, 2004 doesn't do much that mx doesn't do.

For text editors, which are all I use, crimson editor is a very nice little free app, very good configuration options, a slightly stripped down version of editplus, which is a really great editor.

Dreamweaver is the best, but it is quite expensive.

I have a personal preference for Homesite (yes I know that's now a part of Macromedia). I have been using it for a number of years though there are aspects of it I would not touch with a barge-pole - like the Design mode or Codesweeper. However, I use the program almost exclusively for producing pages in HTML, PHP, CGI/Perl and JavaScript.
