First Hi everyone I'm new here
I want to create a search engine where all the listings are created by me. I'm going to signup to affiliate programs and put my links for certain keywords. And for obscure keywords or phrases I need it to pull results from another search engine or engines.
I need to be able to customize all the search pages to my liking. Also need it to be very fast able to handle millions of searches a day.
I have no idea how to do all this so I would obviously outsource it. All I know is html never installed a script though
Is this basically a huge database of html pages with the website links on it?
How hard would this be? How much would something like this cost? Also would I need multiple servers? Thanks for your help in advance.

Hmm... I have never done this, but to me it sounds like - if you want to do it properly, it would cost a lot, take multiple servers, and yes a database to house all the data. If you are pulling results from another SE you may not need a complete data base, but you would need something if you plan on integrating affiliate links etc. Need to store them somewhere.

Cooldude, you'll need to hire a programmer/database guy/gal or learn how to program and do databasing yourself. You could buy search engine software out of the box and then have it customized to your needs too. That's about what your options are.
