I have a client that wants to edit a section on his web page but he does not know html. Is there a program or script out there that will let him edit a section of his web page using his browser? Thanks for any help.

Depends how the site is set up.
If you have static HTML pages then there is no other option but to save a copy of the existing page, edit it, and then send it (FTP) back to the server.
If you want the ability to edit the site frequently, then you might want to install a CMS, or use PHP to make a user interface that he can use to do the editing of the content parts of the pages.
A redesign of the site might be necessary to allow that to happen.

You may also want to consider Macromedia Contribute. Ive been playing around with it lately and writes pretty clean code and is pretty user friendly. But as g1smd said it depends on how you setup and what your overall needs are.

I agree with you. Mcromedia Contribute can be a good pick.
Macromedia Contribute has the direct editing option that helps you Open, edit, and save HTML pages directly from the file system.
