I've made a list with more than 6.600 directories.
This list contains:
- i've included link updates at PR at each acces.
- i've included Alexa Traffic Rank (Alexa Traffic Rank is a very important factor by which you choose the directory)
- i've included Alexa Links
- i've included the sort by PR (Google's PageRank)

There's no more than a few dozen useful directories.
If you lower your standards you still don't get to a hundred before you're signing on to sites that are going to harm your chances, not help them.

If you think FREE is only criterion, you know little about directories.

becareful submitting to directories they can be penalized as link farms and your site can suffer from it too
