I have real estate site which is doing in google. Recently I did some reciprocal linking and have given link backs to Zero pagerank sites. Will it affect my ranking in google in future. Should I stop doing reciprocal linking and do one way linking only to maintain good rankings in google.

My link page is ranking zero

    Please relpy soon.

    Thanks,

    Vands

i dont like reciprocal links myself much but if they topic related a few wouldn't matter much but they will give you less linking score and dont have to many reciprocal links in my opinion

Reciprocal linking is fine with Quality, Related sites.

In all other cases it is of doubtful benefit at best, and high risk at worst.

Don't forget that visible page rank is at least three months old, and says little about the real world.

Page rank is one of the various factors that google uses to rank your website in the search engine. This term is usually misunderstood to a rapid reciprocal and non relevant link exchanges with related sites. There is an algorithm that works around this :

    PR-A = (0.15) + (0.85 X PR-B/TOT-B)

PR-A is the PageRank of Page A
PR-B is the PageRank of Page B
TOL-B is the Total Outbound Links of Page B

For example if you get a inbound link from a page that has a PR of 6 and on that page there is a total of 6 outbound links (counting the one to your page), a PR of 1 will be added to your page: 0.15 + (0.85 x 6/6) = 1. If that one inbound link adds a PR of 1 to your page, and you wanted a PR of 5 it would take 5 similar inbound links.

So if you have created link exchanges with related websites that have low PR or PR/TOT ratio, your page rank will be low.
