Hello,

I like to know if links in forums, and in signature/profiles in forums are counted as backlinks to my websites or not?
if I submit a link to a directory with PR7 how much that will increase my PR and how much it will take till google notice that?
thank you

The best answer to your question is "it depends". Some links in profiles and in signatures will count and others will not (it depends on the forum).

The same with directories--even though the home page of the directory is a PR7 that doesn't mean that your site will benefit from that. You see, you have to consider the actual page where your link will be; and in some directories your link might be buried and it may not count for much.

As for how long Google will take to 'notice' it, you'll probably going to see the effect on rankings within about 2-3 weeks or so, sometimes quicker than that.
