My site have an affiliate program with thousands of affiliates linking to my site with a like like website.com/index?af=123&pro=abc&img=xyz
Apparently Google doesn't like this kind of links because is not taking them into consideration. A competitor of our site is using links like website.com/index/123/abc/xyz with a redirection to the home page and looks google like more this kind of links.
Anybody can confirm what I suspect? Anybodu had previous experience in affiliate program links?
Thanks

Links like this are actually fine:
website.com/index?af=123&pro=abc&img=xyz
So are links like this:
website.com/index/123/abc/xyz
It's not really the URLs, it's actually what happens when someone (or a search engine bot) goes to one of those URLs. Most likely the competitor is using a 301 Permanent Redirect, which is what should happen when you use affiliate links. This way the merchant gets all the inbound link credit and not the affiliates themselves.
