I built and operate a directory and was thinking about doing my own "contextual" advertising along the different categories. I have tried a few banners along such categories as real estate and automotive but so far I haven't had any results.

I have placed the appropriate commission junction banners along the side. Are banners so out of it that no one clicks on them anymore? Adsense uses text but I can get text links from commission Junction too instead of banners. I prefer them to Google
