Hi,
Can someone include multiple adsense ads in one page ? I have seen a few and I am not sure if its legal or allowed. Please advise.
Regards,

At one point, this was not allowed.. however Google changed the rules on that a short while back. To quote their policy page:
Multiple ad units may be displayed on each Web site page, but no ad unit shall contain any advertisement in common with any other ad unit.
There's more info on the "program policies" pages within the Help section of the AdSense site, as well.

It's not allowed - I was given a slap on the wrist for it by the Google staff

It *was* against the rules at one point, but their present policies seem to indicate that it's ok. Keep in mind that this changed about a month ago...
Here's the page I pulled my quoted statement above from:

Actually, showing multiple ads is still NOT allowed.
"Multiple ad units may be displayed on each Web site page, but no ad unit shall contain any advertisement in common with any other ad unit."
How would you display a second ad unit that DIDN'T show the same ads as the first? Cannot be done... yet.

No, it is not currently permitted. It was added into the Terms for a new feature for regular publishers that will be launched, probably within the next few months.
Google AdSense program policy prohibits double-serving (showing two
identical ads on a single page). As there is currently no mechanism in
place to prevent double-serving if two ad units are on the same page,
publishers may only place one copy of AdSense ad code on each page.
The "multiple ad units..." phrase does not refer to multiple Google ad units. It refers to another ad on the same page with google ads. So you're not supposed to run ads on your pages that will show up in the Google ads too. Not sure how you're supposed to prevent that, and some of the interpretations on the response noted above brings up questions about whether they want exclusive ad space or not.
... and 'mukul' eventually you will get caught and they will issue you a warning or boot you from the program for violating their TOS, but that's upto you short-term or long-term benefits !

Hi Johnathon,
Thanks for replying. It kind of woke me up
I am finding several references of people using multiple adsense ads on their websites and in some case as many as 3 are being displayed. I am not too sure if its allowed or not.
However, just to be on the safer side I am not showing multiple ads on all pages.

Well the program policy reads:
"Multiple ad units may be displayed on each Web site page, but no ad unit shall contain any advertisement in common with any other ad unit."

It's definitely something that Google should clarify; their phrasing is WAY too confusing for the average mortal to really discern what they are saying.
I would encourage everyone with this question in their mind to specifically ask Google support before utilizing multiple AdSense units on one page. If they say yes, then keep the e-mail handy and 'go nuts' with as many ads as you want.
In retrospect, one well placed ad may perform much better than several ads, but I suppose that also depends on the length of your pages.

Now google is handling multiple ad units.
I added second unit now my clickthrough is the same but impressions are up. Does it mean that google is counting two ad units as two impressions?
